A Year of Growth and Expansion at Jarvis Nuclear
Increased Client Base
We’ve seen a significant increase in the number of clients we serve, including schools, colleges, veterinary practices, and industrial organisations. These new appointments demonstrate the growing need for our expertise in radon, radiation protection, RPA/RPS, (Radiation Protection Advisors / Radiation Protection Supervisor Training) and nuclear safety.
Collaboration for Safety
We’re proud to announce a collaboration with another consultancy to work on a Normal Operations Dose Assessment for a safety case. This project demonstrates our commitment to partnering with others to deliver the highest safety standards in the nuclear industry.
A Brand-New Website Launch
We were thrilled to unveil our brand-new website! Thanks to the fantastic work of The Web Design and SEO Company Limited, we now have a much better platform to showcase our services and connect with potential clients. Sharing Knowledge and Raising Awareness
Our team members have been actively involved in raising awareness about radon and radiation protection throughout the year. Neil attended the 2024 National Radon Forum at the UK Health Security Agency, while Paul provided a valuable Radon Awareness presentation to the Cornwall Chamber of Commerce.
Expanding Our Horizons
We’re excited to announce that we moved into new office space at Derriford Business Park in November! This new location offers a dedicated meeting and training space, in addition to excellent transport links to Devon and Cornwall and the A38/M5. This expansion reflects our commitment to serving clients throughout the region.
A Warm Welcome to Neil MacPhail!
We’re excited to announce that Jarvis Nuclear has a new addition to our team! Neil MacPhail has joined us as a Principal Consultant / Radiation Protection Adviser (RPA).
Neil brings a wealth of experience to our team, having previously worked at Rolls Royce as Head of Radiation Protection and, more recently, as Internal Regulation and Assurance Manager. His expertise will be invaluable as we continue to provide top-notch services to our clients.
In his new role, Neil will spearhead the development and delivery of our bespoke Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) training courses. He will also be taking on RPA appointments and providing expert advice on radon measurement and risk reduction strategies.

Supporting Local Football
We were thrilled to sponsor Truro City Football Club‘s match ball this year. It was fantastic to see the team secure their first home win at their new ground and climb into the play-off positions. We had a great time meeting the players and receiving a signed ball, programme, and team sheet. The club’s staff were incredibly welcoming, and we’re excited to continue our sponsorship later in the season.

Supporting Children’s Bereavement
Jarvis Nuclear was proud to sponsor Jeremiah’s Journey to help their Jeremiah’s Joy choir continue into 2024. This wonderful charity provides essential bereavement support for children and young people who have lost loved ones.

We’re gearing up to present a Radon Awareness course to a local health organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to educate healthcare professionals about the risks of radon exposure and the importance of testing and mitigation.
Strengthening Our Partnerships
We’re thrilled to be taking on additional RPA appointments with schools and colleges in January. These partnerships will enable us to continue providing essential radiation protection services to educational institutions and ensure the safety of students and staff.
Pioneering Bespoke Training
We’re excited to announce that we’ll be hosting our first bespoke on-site RPS training course in 2025 for a company based in Devon. This customised training program will be tailored to the specific needs of the client, ensuring that their staff receive the highest quality training in radiation protection.
