Radon in Cornwall & Devon
In accordance with the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, employers are required to assess risks (& this includes Radon.) You have a duty to conduct Radon tests where your buildings are located in a Radon affected area; you conduct work below ground eg. in basements or cellars, or work in environments where there may be other sources of Radon eg. open water sources.

How Does Jarvis Nuclear Help with Radon in Schools & Businesses?
If a Radon concentration above 300 Bq/m3 is measured in any workplace, the Ionising Radiations Regulations come into effect, and must be complied with. This will require consultation with, and appointment of an RPA, plus notification of the Radon concentrations to the Health & Safety Executive. We can support you with both of the above.
Following measurement of Radon levels, we produce a report from an accredited UK laboratory, and advise on any further steps required, eg. supporting you in the production of a Radon risk assessment. We do not provide Radon mitigation or remediation works, but can provide details of those who will. Our advice can be provided on an hourly basis, or as part of a fixed price contract to suit your school/business.
